Mo

Mo the cockatiel hatched in 2000 at Myrtle Avenue Pet Center in Eureka, CA (see below). After spending his youth in Northern California, Mo retired in 2017 to the Baltimore area before relocating to San Francisco by way of Portland, OR. He has been described by at least one veterinarian as “borderline obese.” Figuratively speaking, Mo has been observed to come out of his shell during his Golden Years, gradually establishing trust with the author and learning to accept scratches from his longtime owner for the very first time. Literally speaking, Mo came out of his shell around 25 years ago, as outlined above.

Mo has both effectively never been outside and also visited 4 states, including wintertime sojourns in Pittsburgh, PA and summertime escapes to Annapolis, MD.

His hobbies include singing to human females, roosting on sweatpants, cowering from the sound of neighborhood birds, and eating nuts and grains when he can get them.
